Five Instructive Reasons Men Stray From Their Wives

Men stray; that's a fact. Women stray too but that'll be covered in a different article. I'll admit that this list is certainly not exhaustive but it probably covers most of the main reasons.

1. Men are not happy at home. Life crowds in on people. We don't always get what we want when we want with whom we want. The question, then, remains, why aren't men happy at home? I'm sure the reasons are as numerous as there are men and women.
2. Men don't find their wives attractive anymore. Their wives let themselves go. Fact is, so do the men. They'll be the last to admit it, but both parties let themselves go.
3. Men do not enjoy the duties of being a husband and a father. Being both husband and father is tough work. It's a thankless and tireless job but terribly rewarding when done right. (the ladies know all too well this reason because their job is significantly more complex).
4. Men have high expectations of their wives. Let's face it, women and men alike are bombarded with subtle and not so subtle messages that we are all fat, ugly, and wrinkly. You don't find Popular Mechanics magazines and there's a reason why that is. Men see this throughout the day and expect their spouses to at least rise to the level of the fabulously good looking people they meet and interact with every day.
5. The wife is too demanding. Demanding is a strong word but I think it's fitting. After all, just as men and women are bombarded with the good looking ladies and men in all the magazines, the women are all told that bigger is better and that size matters. The subtlety of the demand is decidedly ambiguous. Often it refers to anatomical parts, but sometimes it refers to the diamonds that a man must buy for the ladies (and by extension, the amount of money a man makes).

Each of these in themselves is harmful to a marriage. Combined, they are disastrous.
